How TIDES works

Five steps, one loop: Capture → Score → Signal → Guide → Progress. What goes in, how the score is built, and why the plan changes when your day does.

ONE LOOPEvery dayCaptureScoreSignalGuideProgress

Not a funnel. A loop that closes.

Most apps stop at a score. TIDES watches what you do with it, sees how your body responds, learns the pattern, and adapts tomorrow. Follow one day all the way around.

  1. Capture & sense

Your day goes in, however you think.

Type it in plain language, tap, photograph, scan, or speak. Your Watch and Apple Health fill in the quiet stuff. Skip something and the read degrades honestly, because TIDES never invents a number it didn’t see.

    Sleep 7h 20m·Meal logged·Mood ✓·Watch syncing
  2. Score

    It becomes one honest number.

Five pillars combine into one 0-100 Tide Score and one of five states. Each is weighed against your own rolling baseline, not a population average.

    74BuildBody 35 · Fuel 20 · Mind 15 · Skin 10 · Protocol 20
  3. Explain

It tells you what moved it.

Every number carries its receipt. Signal reads the day against your history and says, in plain words, which pillars carried it and which pulled it down.

SignalFuel and Mind carried you today; short sleep is the only drag.
  4. Guide

It turns the read into a plan.

Each pillar builds today’s plan from your live state. A low-recovery morning softens Body. A high-UV forecast adjusts Skin. Intensity moves within safe bands; principles don’t.

Today’s Body guideZone-2 walk, 25 min. Softened for recovery.
  5. Act

You take the one move, or you don’t.

A single action sized to the capacity you actually have, that you can take or ignore. What you do is logged as data, never as a verdict on you.

  6. Watch the response

It sees what your body did next.

The loop closes here: tomorrow’s recovery and score reflect what you did today. TIDES watches that response instead of guessing.

  7. Test & learn

    Repeats become patterns, staged honestly.

A relationship only counts once it has repeated in your own data: observing at 3 days of overlap, developing at 7, reliable at 14. TIDES shows the stage instead of announcing early.

    Gentle days → steadier next-day recoverydeveloping · 9/14
  8. Adapt

    Tomorrow’s loop already knows.

Confirmed patterns bias your guides going forward. The same loop runs again, a little more yours each time. Nothing here is a diagnosis or a prescription.

Your caffeine cutoff moved 40 min earlier, learned from your nights.

Five pillar signals drawn as glowing nodes, connected into one learning constellation

It gets smarter as your signals build.

  • Baselines. TIDES learns what normal looks like for you, then scores against that.
  • Patterns. Repeated signals get noticed, staged, and only surfaced once reliable.
  • Correlations. Confirmed links (poor sleep → stress, weather → skin) start biasing your guides.
  • Next best move. Signal turns the pattern into one action you can actually take, with the evidence attached.

One number, and everything behind it.

Your Tide Score is a live 0-100 read of your whole system, weighted across the five pillars, not averaged, and compared to your own baseline rather than a population average. All five feed the same score; a pillar counts only when there is real evidence behind it. The Wave is that same score in motion, showing its momentum and stability through the day.

Recovery Reading

A morning readiness read from your overnight signals. It shows how much your body can handle today, before you feel it.

with Apple Health

Day Strain (0-21)

Cumulative cardiovascular load through the day, so you know when you’ve done enough.

with Apple Watch

Confidence, shown

Every read carries how sure it is. Until it has enough of your days, it says “still learning” rather than faking certainty.

Log it however you think.

No single rigid form. Type it in plain language and TIDES files it to the right pillar. You can also tap, slide, photograph, scan, or speak (camera and voice on supported devices). Your Apple Watch or Apple Health fills in the quiet stuff, and you confirm before anything counts.

TIDES also learns which captures you reach for most, and surfaces them first.

Your plan, built two ways.

A guide is what a pillar hands you each day: a workout, a meal target, a wind-down, a skin routine. You choose how it’s made. Either way, TIDES adapts it to the capacity you actually have that day.

TIDES AI builds it.

Say what you’re after in plain language: “get back to running”, “calmer evenings”, “clearer skin”. TIDES builds a real, structured guide around your goal and your constraints. Not a template with your name on it.

“3 days a week, back and knees are cranky, 40 minutes tops.” → a full progressive plan that respects all three.

Bring your own.

Already follow a program or routine you trust? Bring it in. TIDES adopts it as it is and adapts the intensity to your recovery. It reads how the plan is working without rewriting what you believe in.

Kept your plan. Eased today’s volume for recovery, principles untouched.

Both doors run for Body, Fuel, Mind and Skin · every guide is checked against your injury and health flags before it reaches you · it stays yours to edit · Protocol is track-and-log only, and TIDES never prescribes

Your last 24 hours, drawn back for you.

TIDES quietly reconstructs the day behind you. A live activation line runs from the start of your window to now, with the moments that shaped it laid on top. You didn’t have to log a thing.

1

Auto first

It reconstructs, you don’t.

Workouts, walks and sessions come in from Apple Health and land on the line on their own. The timeline is already there when you open it.

2

Verify, don’t log

You check its work.

TIDES shows what it found and asks you to confirm, fix the time, or say “not me.” You’re verifying, not doing data entry, and every correction teaches it.

3

Add what it missed

Fill the gaps it marks.

Tap an empty stretch, the one it flags as unresolved, to add the meeting or meal no sensor could see. It never invents one for you.

Activation is what your body was doing, not a stress verdict · TIDES draws only what it can see, marks the gaps it can’t, and keeps seven days · it feeds Signal, and never guesses a number

How it begins

It starts by getting to know you.

The first run is a conversation, not a wall of forms. Signal introduces itself, you connect the health data you already have, and TIDES spends the first days learning your baseline before it grades a single day.

Meet Signal

Signal introduces itself, and what it can and cannot do, in plain language before you hand it anything.

Set up in minutes

Sign in with Apple, connect Apple Health and your wearable, and say what you are here for.

It learns your baseline

The early days read as learning, not judging. TIDES gathers your normal range before it reads the day.

One calm loop, morning to night.

Tide Turn

A short morning ritual: your read, your state, and the one move that matters today.

Today

Your score, your pillars, and your priorities. A glance and an action, not a dashboard.

Tide Out

An evening wind-down: what moved, what to protect, and tomorrow’s shape.

Daily Recap

A single-day snapshot of scores, actions, and what changed, kept in your history.

And everything TIDES tells you, every reminder, milestone and weekly review, collects in one Updates inbox, so nothing is lost the moment a banner disappears.

Private by default. Real switches, not promises.

Cloud AI, disclosed and switchable

Signal's text intelligence runs through TIDES' own backend, and you can switch it off in one tap. On-device and photo-analysis routing are on the roadmap, not live yet.

Encrypted where it counts

Your journals, moods, scans, and profile are encrypted at rest with AES-GCM, keyed by the phone’s Keychain.

Export & delete

Take your data with you, delete your account and everything with it, or clear your AI history. Any time.

App lock & redaction

Lock TIDES behind Face ID, and keep health values redacted on the Lock Screen and out of Siri and Spotlight.

Location stays yours

Location is used only for weather context, opt-in, and never leaves as anything else.

Not a medical service

TIDES is an educational tool. It never diagnoses, treats, or prescribes.
