Signal · intelligence across TIDES

Hi. I’m Signal.

I read across everything TIDES knows, so I can tell you what changed, and what changed with it. Here is how I think.

How Signal thinks

One loop, every time.

01Understand

Something shifts. Before anything else, Signal works out what actually changed, the observation, cleanly, before any advice.

02Context

A change rarely means much alone. Signal pulls back to see the moment it happened inside: the day, the week, the weather of your life.

03Reason

Signal reasons across your pillars, following the threads between them. Sleep, stress, fuel, training and skin, read together instead of one at a time.

04Plan

It weighs a few paths and offers the one that fits you: your baseline, your goals and the day you are actually having.

05Act

It waits at the gate. Anything that changes your plan or your data happens only when you say yes, never quietly, never on its own.

06Verify

After something happens, Signal looks back to confirm it actually landed, not just that it was asked for. Verified, not assumed.

07Learn

It remembers what matters, with you in control. You can see what it holds, edit it, and clear it whenever you like.

What Signal is reading

Stress · today

A peak around 2:40pm, settled by evening. Read from heart rate and HRV.

A live read of your physiology, one of the many threads Signal follows across your five pillars.

It reads one pillar in the light of the others.

“Your short nights this week are showing up in your afternoon focus, and your skin. I only flagged it once it repeated, not the first time it happened.”

Illustrative

Underneath sits a Personal Context Graph, counting the distinct days of evidence behind a pattern, so it only trusts what it has actually seen enough of.

Ask Signal

One tap away, on every screen.

Ask a question, or just say what happened. Type played padel 35 min and Signal logs a real workout, no form to fill. It picks up past conversations where you left them, and the first time anything leaves your device for the cloud, it tells you once, before it sends. Ask it something clinical and it points you to a professional instead of answering.

You are a little under-recovered today. I would keep this one easy and move the hard block to Thursday.

I read

Last night’s sleep 6h 12m. HRV 41 ms, below your normal. Yesterday’s strain 14.2.

When the evidence isn’t there, that line reads instead: I do not have enough data yet.

When Signal has something to say

It reaches out rarely, and you always know it is Signal.

Most of the time Signal waits to be asked. When something genuinely matters, it surfaces a moment on its own, held to a strict bar so it never turns into noise. Every one wears the Signal Rim, the same lit edge that marks anything Signal touches, so it never reads as a generic notification. Tap to see the reasoning behind it, or wave it away.

From Signal

Third short night in a row, and it is starting to show in your focus. Want me to move this week’s hard block to the weekend?

Its voice, your call

Three ways for Signal to talk.

The judgement underneath stays the same. Only the tone changes, and you set it, along with how much Signal says and which topics it may raise.

Friend

Default

Warm, plain and direct. The one Signal uses unless you say otherwise.

“Rough night. Keep it gentle today.”

Polished

Composed and precise, for when you want it buttoned up.

“Recovery is low. A lighter session is advisable.”

Gen Z Bestie

Loose and playful, if that is more your speed.

“bestie your HRV is in shambles, we rest today.”

How much it says

A dial from a quiet nudge to a full read. Turn Signal down to the essentials, or let it think out loud.

What it may raise

Choose the topics Signal can bring up on its own, and mute the ones you would rather it left alone.

Signal Memory

A private record of what it has learned.

Every entry says two things: what Signal noticed, and what it changed because of it. Each one opens to show the evidence it was built on, and each one is yours to correct. Nothing it holds is hidden from you.

Noticed

Your afternoon focus dips after nights under six hours.

Changed

Now it lines up your deep work earlier on short-sleep days.

  • Built on nine observed days
  • Opens to its evidence, and you can correct it

What it can do for you

A small, fixed set of moves.

When Signal acts for you, it can only reach for a handful of reversible actions, and no others. It can reshape your week; it can never write a prescription.

  • Move a workout
  • Move or replace a meal
  • Restructure the week
  • Nudge bedtime
  • Ease training
  • Swap an exercise

The one thing it cannot do

Change a dose. Protocol sits outside this set by design, so no move Signal has can touch what you take.

Nothing happens without your yes

See the change first. Undo it anytime.

Before Signal moves anything, it shows you exactly what will change and waits. Every change it makes is reversible in a single tap, and a whole week it reshaped can be put back at once.

Signal will

Move Thursday’s intervals to Saturday, and drop today to an easy walk.

ApplyNot now

Anytime after

One tap undoes it. Revert the entire week in a single move.

It grows into three roles, as you trust it.

Advisor

Explains what changed and what it means, in plain language, whenever you ask.

Planner

Lines up your day and your week around what your body actually needs next.

Operator

Carries out the small things for you, once you have said yes. Never before.

Signal is never a weighted sixth pillar. It reads across all five pillars and sits above the score. It tells you what it does not yet know.
